Driade Modesty Veiled by Italo Rota
As steadfast Driade fans, we have been collecting and admiring their creations for some time. I want to say decades, but in all honesty, it is more along the lines of decade… Our most recent obsession is Modesty Veiled. Just the name alone is enough to spark infatuation. Modesty. Veiled.
My favourite thing about the design, is that the profile resembles the statue of liberty. Veiled. Seeing it for the first time, is much like seeing Miss Lacy or Nemo for the first time. Love it or hate it, you can’t stop looking at it. Well done Mr. Italo Rota. Well done.
“the quality of being modest: the freedom from vanity, the respect for discretion in the conduct, in the language, in the clothing, the simplicity, the moderation, designed to prevent the accidental exposure of a body part, a strip of modesty, of meekness”
